Ana María Ternent de Samper
Director of Master’s Programs and Specializations
Ana María de Samper obtained her bachelor’s degree in Nutrition and Dietetics at the Universidad Javeriana in Bogotá, Colombia and holds two Masters Degrees in Education from the same university. She has over 30 years’ experience at all education levels, both in teaching and administrative positions. Her special interests are in teacher training, teaching and leading for understanding, technology in education, visible thinking and learning, cooperative learning and English teaching. She has been an online tutor for Havard’s Wide World courses in Spanish and a participant in special projects related to bilingualism, leadership in education, science teaching and learning, and international accreditation. She presently works as professor, consultant, and researcher with the Department of Foreign Languages and Cultures at the Universidad de La Sabana, in Bogota, Colombia.

Jermaine S. McDougald
Assistant Professor
Jermaine McDougald holds a M.A. in Teaching English as a Foreign Language, a Specialization in Educational Management and a Specialization in University Teaching. He is the Director of Faculty and Research and Editor of the Latin American Journal of Content & Language Integrated Learning, Universidad de La Sabana (Colombia). He has published book chapters and articles in different journals nationally and internationally. He is also an Academic Specialist consulting on bilingual projects with the Colombian Ministry of Education and the British Council. His current research interest includes CLIL, ICTs in ELT, Teacher Training and International Education. He is the director of the research group: LALETUS – Language Learning and Teaching Universidad de La Sabana.

Carl E. Anderson
Assistant Professor
Carl Edlund ANDERSON teaches in the Master’s programs for in-service English teachers at the Department of Foreign Languages & Cultures, Universidad de La Sabana (Chía, Colombia). He holds an A.B. in Folklore & Mythology from Harvard College and a Ph.D. from the Faculty of English (Department of Anglo-Saxon, Norse, & Celtic) at the University of Cambridge, as well as a CELTA from the British Council in Bogotá, Colombia. Currently the Editor-in-Chief of the Latin American Journal of Content & Language Integrated Learning (LACLIL), his research interests include CLIL, rhetorical communication, intercultural studies, world/international Englishes, historical philology, and Colombian minority languages and cultures.

Claudia Acero
Assistant Professor
Claudia Acero is currently working as a lecturer and researcher in the Department of Languages and Cultures at University de La Sabana in Chía, Colombia, South America where she teaches and tutors for the Master's programs in English Language Teaching–Autonomous Learning Environments- (in site) and Self-Directed Learning (online). Her experience in education includes teaching in all language levels from elementary school to graduate programs in private and public institutions, and also the design of language courses and subjects such as Didactics for English Language Teaching, Introduction to Phonetics, Setting Up and Optimizing Language Resource Centers I, Self-access Language Learning Materials, and Introduction to Research. She co-designed and administered a Teacher Development Course for Teachers of the Secretaría de Educación de Cundinamarca, Colombia called MEN TDP. Her work experience includes the direction of the Universidad de La Sabana language program and its language resource center –Studium-, and her current academic coordination of the online graduate program. She has also acted as the research director and counselor of several graduate students´ theses and research projects. Her research interests relate to educational management, technology in language learning, development of autonomy, online learning environments and teacher reflection.

Claudia Patricia Alvarez A.
Assistant Professor
Patricia Alvarez works as a lecturer and researcher in the Department of Languages & Cultures at the Universidad de La Sabana where she tutors for the undergraduate and Master's programmes. Her experience at the graduate level includes the design and delivery of mainstream subjects and the coordination of teacher training programmes. Her research ranges over online environments, the implementation of formative assessment practices and teacher identity and education.
