Logistic Systems
Description:
The research group in logistics systems, supported by mathematical modeling, seeks the efficiency and agility of all systems that support the processes of organizations whose ultimate goal is to generate products or services. Logistics or support systems, involving processing, transport, storage or material handling systems, allow the production system to work properly; hence the importance of their study. The three levels that enclose the 'brain' of this group are the strategic, tactical and operational levels. The group researchers develop mathematical tools capable of supporting effective and efficient decision processes in highly complex systems, when applied to their processes at the logistic and productive levels. However, they also work in other types of organizations where humanitarian and military logistics are applied.
