Bioprospecting Research Group - GIBP
Description:
The (GIBP) is responsible for contributing to the knowledge of Colombian biodiversity by obtaining and evaluating new natural compounds and their derivatives with industry-wide application. This allows the group not only to do basic science, but also to develop viable and useful products in the future. Bioprospecting is the search and study of new molecules (metabolites, genes, compounds) found in the natural resources of the country for industrial or medicinal purposes.
