General Research Directorate
University of La Sabana has been academically consolidated at the national level, as a result of its growing dynamism in strategic research areas, including the generation, transfer, and dissemination of knowledge.
It will have a solid base of active and scientifically productive researchers corresponding to two thirds of the teaching staff. 38% of its full-time professors will hold PhDs from high academic prestige universities.
It will have strengthened the culture of its research groups that will be the basis for the creation and structuring of its seven (7) active doctorate programs. It will keep growing in its scientific production, improving its quality and productivity indicators of articles published in high-impact indexed journals. Moreover, it will have reached the average national standardized citation index and the average of led production collaboration.
Likewise, it will make its production visible and tangible through the increase of patent applications, software registrations, among other products, being ranked in the top 10 of Colombian universities when it comes to the international research context.
Strategic objectives
In order to attain the vision of Universidad de La Sabana regarding its substantive research role, the following strategic objectives were proposed:
- To consolidate the generation and transfer of scientific knowledge.
- To consolidate an active researchers base at the University.
- To increase external resources for research.
- To strengthen the support structure for research.
About us
The General Research Directorate, which is part of the Rector’s Office, is responsible for stating policies and strategies for the promotion and advancement of research in the University. The Department provides guidance, professional development and information to research groups aimed at the development of their research lines and carries out the monitoring and evaluation of the various research processes, projects and programs. It also provides data for the quality and productivity indicators generation of its research groups.
