International Affairs Office
In the national field, the University stands out for its leadership in the internationalization process of its students and professors, and has been recognized in the country, for more than two decades, for its contribution in different topics, such as the construction of internationalization taxonomies for higher education. It is also well known for its outstanding results in mobility and its role in the Colombian Campaign "Challenge Your Knowledge", an initiative of several accredited universities to promote Colombia, at an international level, as an academic and scientific cooperation destination.
The International Affairs Office operates to promote the incorporation of an international dimension into the core functions of the University (Teaching, Research and Outreach), in order to leverage quality in teaching, learning and research, and to foster an international culture within our academic community.
The Office also manages the University’s main international partnerships in order to develop and enhance long-term strategic alliances that promote mutual growth. With this purpose, the IAO supports schools and administrative units to manage and implement their own internationalization strategy, aligned with the University’s cooperation priorities.
Our services include:
- Advice for the development of the internationalization strategy.
- Information and orientation for students and staff regarding international programs (study abroad, funding, migratory issues, etc.)
- Development and support for international education programs, both for inbound and outbound mobility.
- Support for international academic partnership development and agreement management.
- Information and support for international grant applications.
- Support for guest scholars and delegations.
Among the programs and specific activities for international students are: Buddy Program, an accompaniment program for students from other countries who will be taking some type of course at our University and, also, La Sabana tu Segundo Hogar (La Sabana, your second home), which supports them in their adaptation process through cultural and recreational activities.
