Master in Epidemiology
The Master in Epidemiology is based on the learning of applied statistics for the management of information in health sciences as well as on the learning of epidemiological methods for the establishment of the causal relationship between exposure and disease. Thus, the scientific basis of the program will stand for the development of the curricular contents, essentially through epidemiology and biostatistics or applied statistics modules, complemented with specific knowledge in management of statistical software, measurement methods and qualitative research and economic analysis.
In this context, epidemiology, as a discipline that studies the distribution and determinants of disease, provides the different surgical and medical specialties and the overall field of public health with the research methods required to identify risk factors. Similarly, it also enables the management of health resources as well as the efficient and effective prevention and control of diseases, thus giving epidemiology a preponderant place in all areas of medical knowledge.
