Before starting classes, please email all the required documents to spanishprogram@unisabana.edu.co:
- Passport (personal data page)
- Visa or PID permit stamp
- Health insurance certificate with coverage in Colombia
VISA
Student Visa
Students enrolling in a course at our university that lasts more than 24 weeks (6 months) must apply for a student visa. This can be done at a Colombian Embassy or Consulate abroad or at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs office in Colombia.
We strongly recommend obtaining the visa before arriving in the country. To apply, students must present the letter of acceptance and other required documents and certificates, which the university will provide.
PID PERMIT
Permit and Stay Stamp
Students enrolling in a Spanish course at our university for up to 12 weeks will not need to process a student visa. To take the course, students must request the PID stamp upon entering Colombia. Please note that it is not possible to start the course with a tourist stamp.
To apply for the PID permit, you must present your acceptance letter to the course, issued by Universidad de La Sabana, to immigration officials upon entry to the country. If needed, the PID permit can be renewed for an additional 12 weeks. The renewal must be completed at least two weeks before the initial 90-day period expires.
NOTE: If the student is in our country with a tourist stamp (TU) and decides to take a Spanish course at our university, should contact the Office of Migration Colombia to request change to Entry and Stay (PID).
